Hoot Magazine Fashion Editorial, Spring/Summer 2014

As photo director of Hoot Magazine, one of my duties is to put together a photoshoot for the semesterly print issue.  In the past, I've typically shot my editorials in outdoor locations with a theme reminiscent of some decade/era, but this time I wanted to step out of my comfort zone.  For this shoot, my stylists and I decided to embrace minimalism by sticking to a neutral palette and plain background.  By setting a simplistic theme, we were able to incorporate a lot of statement pieces (such as the Maison Michel hat and Dries Van Noten boots) without compromising the overall coherence of the editorial.  I'm really happy with the way the photos turned out, especially with the seascapes, and will definitely consider doing more similar shoots in the future.  Check out the latest issue of Hoot to see the outfit credits and all of the other beautiful editorials!

For the Spring/Summer '14 issue of Hoot Magazine, I had the opportunity of shooting the beauty editorial which was a fun take on makeup looks for various music festivals.  This was only my second beauty shoot (check out my first one here) and since then, I've come to really enjoy photographing beauty.  It's incredible how makeup can completely transform someone — Rebecca looks like a different person in each of these looks!  Take a peek of the photos in the latest issue of Hoot and be sure to pick up a print copy on campus this fall!
