Growing up in the midwest in a land-locked suburb, I've always pictured California to be some sort of dream land with its year-long nice weather and coastlines. A recent trip to the Bay Area and Big Sur did indeed confirm that California is a magical place. Driving along State Route 1, I couldn't believe how perfectly picturesque everything looked — the clear turquoise waters, the wildlife (seals, pelicans, whales, etc.), and even Karl the Fog. Aside from nature, I also really enjoyed my time exploring San Francisco and its many neighborhoods, rich with history, culture, and art. I packed a lot into my week trip there, but I definitely did not cover everything... hopefully I will be back to experience more of the west coast soon!
